 Focus

                                                                                      MINISTRY FOCUS

While Byron Community Ministries programs range from family counseling to flu shot clinics it is our food pantry that began it all.  We are currently serving over 300 families a month, helping them with much needed food and clothing that enables them to stretch their budgets to cover other basic needs. With our participation with ACCESS, an agency that helps coordinate and assist food pantries in the Kent County Area, we are able to screen clients and make sure that they are served by food pantries in their geographical area.  This prevents abuse of the pantries, where families visit several in succession.  Our families also benefit from our partnership with ACCESS, they will be able to take advantage of casework services, Holiday giving Network and easier access to governmental aid such as food stamps and WIC.  Just as Byron Community Ministries grew out of a desire to combine the resources of our community churches and show God’s love and caring, ACCESS combines us with the rest of the county and allows us those resources for the greater good.
